HEALTH minister Eluned Morgan has joined the celebrations of the Urdd’s centenary by posting a video of her singing its anthem.

The youth organisation has been urging people to upload clips of themselves singing Hei Mistar Urdd – the song dedicated to its triangular mascot as part of a world reord attemp.

And the Member of Senedd for Mid and West Wales didn’t disappoint by taking time out to record her effort and sharing it to her personal Twitter account.

First minister Mark Drakeford also uploaded a video to congratulate the Urdd on reaching the 100 years milestone.

Actor Matthew Rhys today shared his memories of being involved with the Urdd while growing up in Cardiff during Radio 4's Today programme.

But he didn’t break into song and instead took the time to praise the organisation for the opportunity it has provided children and young people over 100 years and its role in supporting the Welsh language.

He also thanked members, parents, staff and volunteers who have contributed to the movement.
