POLICE have confirmed a man has died after a stabbing in the centre of Cardiff shortly after 9am yesterday.

South Wales Police said the man has yet to be formally identified but he is believed to be a 31-year-old local man. His next of kin have been informed

A 44-year-old man was arrested in the Splott area of Cardiff yesterday on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody.

On Tuesday, November 23, police said they were investigating a stabbing at Hansen Street, near Dumballs Road, which is close to Cardiff Central Train Station and that a man had been arrested.


The force confirmed this morning that the man had died.

A statement said detectives aren't looking for anybody else in connection with the man’s death and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
