The wizarding world of Harry Potter has arrived in Cardiff.

This morning, the famous Harry Potter platform 9 ¾ trolley was unveiled at Cardiff Central station in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Harry Potter fans, dressed in their best robes and Hogwarts scarves, gathered to celebrate at the station.

The installation allows fans to recreate the moment when Harry first made it on to Platform 9 ¾, by running through a magical brick wall in London’s King’s Cross station, before taking the 11am train to Hogwarts.

The trolley, a symbol of the gateway between the ‘Muggle’ and wizarding world, is situated on the concourse of King’s Cross Station, alongside the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 ¾, and is visited every year by over 2 million people.

The lucky fans in Cardiff were surprised with LEGO® Harry Potter goodies to celebrate the launch.

When can I see the Harry Potter Platform 9 ¾ trolley in Cardiff?

The trolley installation will be available at Cardiff Central for Harry Potter fans to visit until October 28 between 10.30am and 5.30pm.

Isaac Lloyd, eight, from Cardiff, said: “I came to see the Harry Potter trolley at Cardiff Station and it was brilliant! I’m going to tell all my friends to come, it’s a really magical experience.”

The trolley tour was launched to thank the fan community for their love and support over the past two decades and help them capture their own version of this iconic moment from the first film.

After leaving Cardiff it will head to Belfast and then Dublin.
