Amazing video footage shows blue sharks swimming off the coast of Pembrokeshire.

Captured on Friday, August 27, the footage by Pembrokeshire Boat Charters shows customers swimming with sharks and dolphins accompanying the boats out to sea.

Wildlife in the seas off the west coast is clearly abundant, with this latest footage captured in the Celtic Deeps, around 35 miles south-west of St Anne’s Head.

Based in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire Boat Charters run diving and snorkelling trips.

When the weather is near perfect, like it has been this weekend, they also run swim sessions with sharks.

Skipper Dave Stowell said he hopes Pembrokeshire people realise what they have on their doorstep.

"George our marine biologist has nicknamed the Celtic Deeps 'Jurassic Park'.

"The variety of marine wildlife is incredible. You never know what’s going to turn up. Blue shark, mako shark, porbeagle shark, blue fin tuna, pilot whales, common and Risso dolphins and loads more."

Blue sharks live as far north as Norway and as far south as Chile.

They average around 3.1 meters in length and weigh around 110 kilograms, feeding primarily on small fish and squid, although they can take larger prey.

A couple of weeks ago, a humpback whale was spotted in the seas off our western coastline, while nobody can forget Wales' adopted walrus who is still causing carnage across the Irish Sea.
