The number of people in Wales who have received at least one Covid-19 vaccination has reached 1,502,601 according to today's Public Health Wales' latest report, with 475,570 having received a two-dose course.

Zero deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours and 82 new cases confirmed.

A third coronavirus vaccine is being rolled out in the UK, and people in west Wales have been the first in line to receive doses of the Moderna vaccine today.

Health Minister Vaughan Gething hailed the development as “another key milestone” in the fight against coronavirus.

"A third vaccine for use in Wales significantly adds to our defences in the face of coronavirus and will help to protect our most vulnerable.

“Every vaccine given to someone in Wales is a small victory against the virus and we would encourage everyone to go for their vaccine when invited."

Ms Elle Taylor from Ammanford became the first person in the UK to receive the Moderna vaccine this morning when she was given the injection in Carmarthen.
