DOG owners are being urged to keep their animals under control after a young lamb was killed on Llangadog Common.

The killing took place on Monday, April 11, between 10am and 11am.

It is understood that the Texel Cross lamb was chased by a dog, then collared and severely mauled to its rear end.  The attack is believed to have taken place near Sawdde Bridge.

“This was a horrible attack on a young lamb that was chased and caught,” commented a resident who lives nearby.

"The owner must have seen what was happening as there was blood all along the path.

"You’ve got to remember that this was Llangadog Common and there could have been young children playing in that area. All we hope is that the person comes forward and admits responsibility.”
