BMI Werndale Hospital Endoscopy team is delighted to have been awarded Joint Advisory Group (JAG) Accreditation for its endoscopy services.

The JAG accreditation is formal recognition that an endoscopy service has the competence to deliver against the high standards set by the JAG. Werndale has always provided excellent endoscopy services, to have an external body to confirm this formally justifies our pride in the service offered.

The whole team has worked incredibly hard over the last 2 years, to achieve everything necessary to obtain this accreditation. It covers all aspects of an endoscopy service; ensuring continual improvement of quality and safety of the care provided.

Gaynor Llewellyn, Director of Clinical Services at Werndale Hospital, says “The accreditation reflects the high standard of service, quality and care that is provided to Werndale patients”.

Ros Stranger, Endoscopy and Infection Prevention Control Lead at Werndale Hospital, says “Our JAG accreditation gives assurance to patients that the service provided meets the highest levels of standards and care”.

Dr Dafydd Bowen, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Werndale Hospital, says I have been working at Werndale for 12 years, during this time consistent improvements to the service have been made but the team’s greatest achievement is obtaining JAG accreditation”.

Capsule endoscopy is one of the latest technologies offered in endoscopy services. This technology contains a camera within a pill, it records a video of its journey through the intestine and is recorded onto a box worn by the patient for a 12-hour period. It is a simple and painless procedure specifically appropriate for examining the small bowel.

Werndale offers easy access to these investigations in pleasant surroundings with short waiting times to endoscopy and follow up consultation. For as little as £180 you can book to see a consultant, who will guide you through your treatment options. We offer face to face, telephone or video consultation according to your preference. If you need further investigation we also offer easy ways to pay including monthly repayments spread over 12 months, interest-free.

If you'd like to find out more about our services or to book a consultation, please call us on 01267 668541. We'll be pleased to advise you on your next steps.
